Christmas decor with recycled paper

Came across a simple but brilliant tutorial on this blog, on how to make stars and I was hooked! The need to scratch the hand craft itch was so great I ended up making like about 20 in 2 days! The best part is, you can use ANY paper and make these look good… And there is no dearth of paper lying around!

Newspaper, paper shopping bags, pieces of your kids’ craft paper, used gift wrap, you name it! Even if you have only torn pieces, see if you can cut squares of the same size. 2 squares per star is all you need.

The full tutorial is here, neatly described. And here are the ones I made. These will be available at the Christmas Carnival on Dec 10th, that The Spastics Society of Karnataka is organizing. Come over :).

If you have odd shaped pieces of paper, punch a hole in a corner and loop through the star strings. Add a message or leave it as a gift tag for someone else
